The difference between skimming and scanning is that skimming means you quick read text to find  key points. Scanning is looking over the text and reading to find the key information by looking at key words.


Examples of Scanning-
1) Read the tittle.
2) Look at the introduction in the first paragraph.
3) Read headings and sub-headings.
4) Notice pictures, graphs and charts.
5) Notice words and phrases.
6) Read last paragraph.


 Examples of Scimming-
1) Look for something in particular.
2) Do not read every word.
3) Move your eyes quickly through the lines.
